County Mulls Major Schedule Changes

On May 19, 2026, the Board of County Commissioners held a Work Session in which Guemes Ferry Management and Public Works proposed a number of cost cutting scenarios centering on reduction of schedule as the prime way to cut operational costs.  This meeting was announced as a Public Works Work session and the topic was not known to the public. Through diligent research, the following vidio link was obtained from the County.  The June Ferry Newsletter notes a number of the meetings scheduled late summer through the fall which pertain to schedule in addition to the usual round of informational meetings regarding the 2027 proposed fare increase.
